IAG KHAYELITSHA

OUR HISTORY
The international Assemblies of God Western Cape Khayelitsha Assembly was founded in 2004 by Rev, S. Nkalane and NJ Nkalane his wife, which then started with 7 to 8 people. It is affiliated with the International Assemblies of God South Africa and Assemblies of God Abroad. This was in direct response to the spiritual needs that were identified within our community.
The IAG believes in an indigenous church principle (self-governing self-supporting and self-propagation). This means that, the church is to grow on its own setting and environment following the New Testament pattern. It is fully Pentecostal Christian Church. This church believes in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and in the working of the gifts of the Spirit and also preaches the full Gospel of Jesus Christ the Messiah as set out in the Bible.
During the early stage the church started to meet in Khayelitsha Site B, V-Section. Meeting during the week having Sunday services, but every month-end and we were having Sunday services with the church in Strandfontein (Commission Assembly) and we moved from Strandfontein to work under the church in Delft (Alpha and Omega Ministries). It wasn’t long the church in Easter-river (Family Enrichment Ministries) was given a mandate by the district to take care of our church. The church in Easteriver was instrumental in helping us to get our first place of worship in which we also resided in.The international Assemblies of God Western Cape Khayelitsha Assembly was founded in 2004 by Rev, S.
